Stefan Sagmeister: You are not a Storyteller

We knew that someone would eventually callout the idea of advertisers as “storytellers”…and that someone was Stefan Sagmeister of design firm Sagmeister & Walsh. He made his comments at the CAMP Festival in Calgary.

In the interview, Sagmeister attacks the urge for those in the communications industry to rush to re-assign themselves as storytellers. “Now everybody’s a storyteller,” he says, before dismissing the trend as “bullshit”.

Nick Goettling is a Chicago-based illustrator, storyboard artist, concept designer, and fine artist focusing on building a more visually stimulating world. With a strong background in traditional drawing and painting, he also employs digital technology in his work. He was recently commissioned for a pair of bright murals, soon to take over two underpasses on Kimball Avenue near Northeastern Illinois University's Avondale campus.

Tabletop Object by Built Form

Built Form designed and fabricated tabletop objects to be presented as gifts to help the client generate interest in a proposed mixed use project in downtown Durham, North Carolina designed by Built Form. The gift item featured a 1:50 building massing model enclosed in a protective structure which acted as a stage-set when unfolded for display.

Las Palmitas Mural by German Crew

July 31, 2015

Germen Crew just completed what could be one of the world's largest murals in a small Mexican pueblo. The colorful mural was Commissioned by the Las Palmitas, Pachuca District, long known for its role as the "Drug Capital of Mexico." A massive public art project comprising 209 homes and over 215,000 square feet, the Macro Mural reveals a hybrid style that leans heavily on the group's graffiti background.
