C10 Beer for Architects by Kissmiklos

The KÉK, contemporary architecture center of Hungary, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In celebration, KÉK has collaborated with Hungarian designer Kissmiklos to create ‘C10′ — a craft beer for architects.

‘C10′ is an India Pale Ale style brew, and its name is derived from two ideas: celebrating the 10th, and in homage to ‘C10′ concrete. The label is composed of three technical drawings of structures in Budapest, and its color scheme refers to the word KÉK, which aside from being the center’s acronym, means blue in Hungarian.

The Seattle Central Library redefines ‘ library’ as an institution no longer exclusively dedicated to books, but as an information store where all forms of media—new and old—are presented equally and legibly. In an age where information can be accessed anywhere, it is the simultaneity of all media and, more importantly, the curatorship of their content that will make the library vital.

The Sheats Goldstein Residence by John Lautner

Designed and built between 1961 and 1963 in Beverly Crest, Los Angeles, the building was conceived from the inside out and built into the hillside; a cave-like dwelling that opens to embrace nature and view. The house is an example of American Organic Architecture that derives its form as an extension of the natural environment and of original owner.

SESC Pompéia by Lina Bo Bardi

It can be said that the way to understand the architectural program in SESC Pompéia has to do with a way to be in town and occupying public spaces or collective, almost an exercise in "micro-urbanism". The project is planned as aggregation; the context is understood as debris on which it intervenes.

In this project Lina Bo Bardi decided to keep most of the complex as it was to preserve the characteristics of the place. In order to maintain existing spatial qualities on the site, the architect focused placing objects freely within the space.
